ABOUT

The Chop Shop Sample Challenge, hosted by Great Dane, is a remix competition and live event held at 343 Labs NYC, located at 119 W 23rd St, Studio 700. The event takes place on last Wednesday of the month from 7-10 PM, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own beverages (BYOB). 

For each edition, samples and stems are released during the first week, with submissions due the day of the event. Participants have the opportunity to submit their beats, receive feedback from special guest judges, and win free promo. Highlights of the event include feedback and judging sessions, and the compilation of winning beats into a mixtape on 343 Labs’ SoundCloud. This event is open to all members of the 343 Labs community. 

Great Dane, a drifter from Orange County with a taste for independent hip hop and an ear for sticky beats. A Low-End Theory enthusiast signed to Alpha Pup Records, Great Dane is highly influenced by the D-I-Y aesthetic espoused by groups such as Odd Future and is co-founder of beat collective TeamSupreme. His debut LP, Alpha Dog, was released on Alphapup Records in 2013.
