NYC Ableton User Group Meetup + 343 Labs Open House
April 28, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm EDT
We are excited to bring you the next in-person NYC Ableton User Group meetup! As always, the meetup is open to producers, songwriters, DJs, and musicians of all types and proficiency levels looking to exchange ideas, network, meet like-minded producers, and learn new tips and tricks from our presenters and fellow participants.
343 Labs will also be opening its doors for an Open House, for anyone that would like to tour the facilities, meet some of the 343 Team, and learn about the 343 music production courses.
This month’s presenters:
Stella Key: Vocal Pre-Production
Min the Universe: 100% “in the box” track breakdown – sound design, fx, automation, mixing, mastering
Patrick Rimterakul: Manipulating Samples in Ableton Live
In this presentation Stella will go through the first steps of vocal production, starting with recording and editing the vocals before using any plug-ins. In order to achieve the smooth sounding almost “perfect” pop/dance vocals we hear nowadays, there are a few steps that we need to take before even using any plug-ins to mix the vocals. These include a good recording and editing and preparing the vocals.
Bio: Stella Key is a dance music producer, top-liner/vocalist, and Dj. Her sound is a combination of dreamy and euphoric bass-focused electronic music. She has been collaborating with various dance producers/artists and labels around the world and has gained over 15 million streams across all platforms during the past two years.
100% “in the box” track breakdown – sound design, fx, automation, mixing, mastering, with Min the Universe
Min walks you through his latest release “Parallels” – created from start to finish without expensive hardware – taking a quick look at synthesis and sound design, drum and instrument programming, composition and arrangement, automation and fx, and mixing/mastering.
Bio: Min the Universe is an electronic music producer and DJ based in New York City. A citizen of the world, his music pulls sounds from house, progressive house, pop, techno, and beyond to create a sonic tapestry that transcends barriers and draws listeners into new parallel universes uniquely their own.
Manipulating Samples in Ableton Live, with Patrick Rimterakul
Patrick will show how to manipulate samples using stock Ableton instruments and effects. He’ll use Simpler, Wavetable, Drum Buss, Saturator, Compressors, Reverbs, and more. By the end of the lesson, we will have some flipped samples and a mixed / mastered track.
Bio: Patrick Rimterakul is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, songwriter, and audio engineer from Maryland and currently residing in Brooklyn. Nowadays, he is running a sample pack production company, producing/mixing for artists, selling beats, and teaching.
