DESCRIPTION:Girlie Pop Production Carousel — Free Workshop with RSVP\nPresented by WMN NYC x 343 Labs. Open to the WMN community — women\, gender-expansive folks\, and allies. \nThis will be an interactive music production event with a maximum of 20 participants. Each participant will bring their own laptop with Ableton installed and should have basic production skills in the software. \nParticipants will be divided into groups of four. Each group will rotate between workstations every 10–15 minutes\, adding new musical elements (e.g.\, bassline\, drums\, chords\, etc.) to different sessions. By the end of the carousel\, each track should have 8–16 bars with multiple elements forming a short\, collaborative song. Participants will export their tracks at the end and share their creations with the group. \nThis event requires a set number of participants\, so please only register if you can confirm your attendance. \nWe Make Noise (WMN) is a global nonprofit advancing gender equity through music and technology.

Alden also performs and releases music as Siide Quest – a Dungeons and Dragons/fantasy-themed comedy music project. DESCRIPTION:We are excited to bring you the next in-person NYC Ableton User Group meetup! As always\, the meetup is open to producers\, songwriters\, DJs\, and musicians of all types and proficiency levels looking to exchange ideas\, network\, meet like-minded producers\, and learn new tips and tricks from our presenters and fellow participants. \nThis month’s presentation will be about the new Live 12.2 updates and features. \nThis month’s Ableton User Group will be hosted by John Selway. \nJohn Selway is one of 343’s longest-standing instructors and is considered a pillar of the 343 community\, known for his wildly popular Techno Saturdays stream on 343 TV. He is considered a techno trailblazer of his time\, with a career that started in his hometown\, NYC\, in the 90s. He is known for his contributions to the early productions of Deep Dish\, his first success as part of the seminal New York underground duo Disintegrator\, his long-running collaboration with Christian Smith\, and his many releases on Seratonin records. \nDuring the event\, you will also have the opportunity to see the 343 Labs facilities\, meet some of their instructors\, and learn about their courses.

Learn some new music production techniques that will make your music stand out. \nDuring the event\, 343 Labs will be opening its doors for an Open House\, where attendees can tour the facilities\, learn about 343 Labs courses\, and meet some of the instructors. This is a great way to get a feel for the community and programs at 343 Labs\, meet fellow producers\, and ask any questions you may have about our school. \nAbout the instructor: John Selway has blazed every path\, collaborated with every talent\, played everywhere\, mastered every style\, broken every boundary\, risen to techno stardom and never forgotten his roots. Since taking up electronic dance music from his home base in NYC in the early ’90s\, John has faithfully represented his city at every turn. SUMMARY:Chop Shop 011 NYC Party
DESCRIPTION:The Chop Shop Monthly Sample Challenge\, hosted by Great Dane\, is an exciting remix competition and live event held at 343 Labs NYC\, located at 119 W 23rd St\, Studio 700. \nThe event takes place on May 28 from 7-10 PM\, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own beverages (BYOB). Each month\, samples and stems are released on the first Thursday\, with submissions due by the last Thursday of the month. \nParticipants can submit their beats\, receive feedback from special guest judges\, and win prizes. \nHighlights of the event include feedback and judging sessions and the compilation of winning beats into a mixtape on 343 Labs’ SoundCloud.
